能作独自の、和モダンな風合いの合子です。
能作の高岡銅器鋳造で培った伝統のワザにより生まれた、
古くて新しい色合いの合子です。
職人のワザとデザイナーのアイディアが融合した一品です。
合子は、仏具でもあり茶道具でもあります。
香合とも呼ばれ、お香を納める小さな蓋付きの容器のコトをいいます。
茶道における合子は、香木や練香を入れる容器です。
合子の中には、香木あるいは練香を三個入れておき、
その内二個を炭の近くに落とし入れて、薫じさせます。
そして残りの一個を、そのまま拝見に回すというのが、
茶道の作法です。
仏具としての合子は、焼香や抹香を入れるのが一般的です。
一般家庭においては、合子は仏具として一般的なのではないでしょうか。
